Arnold Wayne (Whiz) Ratliff, 81, of Glenville, WV passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in the Genesis Glenville Center after an extended illness. He was born on October 08, 1935 a son of the late Charles “Jug” Ratliff and Belva (Riffle) Ratliff. Also preceding him in death on March 12, 2015 was his wife, Pauline Cunningham Ratliff and one brother Stanley Ratliff.
Arnold “Whiz” Ratliff is survived by daughter, Janice Ratliff of Glenville and son, David Ratliff of Gilmer Station. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kenny Ratliff, Jennifer Ratliff, David Ratliff, Jr., and Brittney Burros and husband Jonah. Mr. Ratliff was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Landon, Madison, and Lincoln. Also surviving are brothers George Ratliff and wife Patty of N.C., Hughie Ratliff and wife Leslie of M.D., John Ratliff and wife Carol of V.A., Sam Ratliff and wife Nancy of V.A., and sister Patricia Griffith (Carl) of Sutton, WV.
Arnold worked in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed doing mechanical work, gardening and bird watching. He loved his Boston Terrier Daisy, but most of all spending time with his family.
Family will receive friends at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 on Friday, March 24, 2016 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Delmas Singleton officiating. Interment will be in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest beside his loving wife.
