Obituary for Dan Carpenter

Dan  Carpenter
Dan Carpenter, 81, of 8693 Airport Road, Sutton, WV passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 following an extended illness. He was born on January 1, 1933 and was the son of the late Austin Thomas Carpenter and Mae Louise (Davis) Carpenter. Dan was married to the Connie Rose (Eubank) Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter is survived by two sons, Danny Thomas Carpenter and wife Carol Sue of Weston and Geoffrey Carpenter and wife Cheryl of Flatwoods. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kalyn Carr, Halie Eddy, and Joshua Carr. Mr. Carpenter is also survived by one brother, Donald Carpenter of Spencer, aunt Helen Carpenter of Parkersburg, nephew Tim Carpenter, and niece Sherri Heldman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dallas Carpenter.
Dan served his Country in the United States Army. He was retired from Consolidated Natural Gas. Dan loved nature; he enjoyed fishing and hunting for deer and squirrel. He enjoyed camping, especially when going to the State Fair. Dan also loved farming and tending to his cows. Most of all, Dan loved spending time with his family.
Family will receive friends at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 225 Main Street, Flatwoods, WV on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 from the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Bill Hunt officiating at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow services in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Jane Lew, WV.
