Garrett Delbert Ramsey, age 74, of Oil Creek Road, Roanoke, went to be with the lord on Wednesday, December 2, 2015. He was born in Widen, WV to the late Delbert and Mamie Ramsey. He was also proceeded in death by brother, Aaron Ray Ramsey.
On August 27, 1963 he married his surviving wife, of fifty plus years, Nina Sue Ramsey of the home. He is also survived by daughter, Carla and Rick King of Orlando, son, Gary Ramsey of the home and son, Delbert and Wendy Ramsey of Harmony, NC.
He is also survived by several grandchildren and one great grandchild; Kevin King of Browns Run, Whitney King of Orlando, Kristen, Daniel and Matthew Ramsey of Harmony, NC. Great Grandchild is Aiden Ray King.
Surviving brothers are, David Michael Ramsey, Ronnie Ramsey, Lonnie Ramsey and one sister, Beverly Davis.
Garrett was an avid sportsman and loved hunting for deer, squirrel and raccoons. He was an inspiration to his family and taught them all that the key to life was to work hard. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed, but we have many great memories.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Reverend Ronzel Roberts officiating.
