Obituary for Garl Williams

Garl  Williams
Garl Williams, 82, of Sutton, WV, passed away June 14, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. at the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center due to a long illness. Garl was born on April 13, 1933 in Newville, WV and was the son of the late Oren Benjamin Williams and Sylvia Mae (Groff) Williams.
Garl leaves behind his loving wife, Laura Bright Williams, of Sutton, WV; daughters, Rita Jo Drazdik of Sutton, WV and Jana Garlene Taylor of Tampa, FL; granddaughter, Jana Marie Williams of Sutton, WV; grandson, Samuel Garl Currier and wife Krystine both of Tampa, FL; two great grandsons, Jesse David Moats and Jacob Douglas Moats, of Sutton, WV. He also leaves behind two great-great- grandsons, Bryson Keith Moats and Lee Lynn Paul Moats of Sutton, WV.
Garl served his Country in The United State Marine Corps. He was a Methodist by faith and belonged to the Newville United Methodist Church. Some of his hobbies were yard selling, flying airplanes and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed going out to eat at the Western Steer Steak House and Larry’s Steak House. He loved to watch Westerns such as Big Valley, GunSmoke and the Andy Griffin show. He was a very good mechanic and managed numerous auto and repair and gas service stations throughout his life.
We would like to thank Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for taking good care of our Dad and Grandpa. He will be missed but we are with some peace knowing that he is no longer suffering and he may be at peace now.
Family will receive friends at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rod Nicholas officiating. Interment will be private in the Newville Cemetery where he will be buried alongside his first wife, Josephine Elaine Williams who proceeded him in death on July 3, 1987.
