Obituary for Julius William Singleton
Julius William Singleton, 51, of 2685 Gem Road went to be with the Lord on November 26, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his family. Julius was born in Sutton, WV, on March 25, 1963. He was the son of the late James Singleton and Virginia (Riffle) Singleton. On September 9, 1996, he married Mary (Losh) Singleton.
In addition to his wife, Julius is survived by two sons, James and Isaac Singleton of Gem; daughter, Barbara Stump of Gem; granddaughter, Hayleigh Singleton.
Julius was a graduate of Braxton County High School, a graduate of Glenville State College, and a graduate from Marshall University with a Master’s Degree in Education, and was working on a Doctorate degree in Education at Marshall University. He worked a number of years for WVU Tech as a Teacher’s Educator. Julius loved to hunt, was a hard worker, and enjoyed football, always rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and the Marshall Thundering Herd. Julius’s favorite activity was spending time with his family and going to church. He was a member of the Copen Independent Baptist Church.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 from the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Delmas Singleton officiating. Interment will follow services in the Burnsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, P.O. Box 292, Flatwoods, WV 26621 in memory of Julius Singleton. Words of comfort and fond memories may be expressed to the family at stockert-paletti.com.
