Obituary for Sharon Ann Burkett (Miller)
Sharon Ann Burkett (Miller), 65, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Catawba Valley Medical Center due to complications of COVID-19. She was born in Scotts Fork, Exchange WV and is the daughter of the late John William Miller and Virginia Pearl (Cutlip) Miller. She is survived by her husband, Mike Burkett, whom she married on January 18, 1985.
She is preceded in death by her infant children Randall and James Thompson, brother Cecil Miller, and sisters Freda McCullough, Sue James, and Shirley Snyder.
Sharon is survived by her son Tim Riffle and wife Ingrid of Hickory, NC, brothers Charles “Gary” Miller and wife Retha of Exchange, WV, Randy Miller of Chloe, WV, George Arthur Miller of Jarrett, VA, and sister Kay Moore of Chester, WV. She also leaves behind several grandchildren, nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Sharon was a member of the Fresh Oil Church of Hickory, NC where she was a faithful member. She also was an avid sewer and spent the majority of her time making quilts.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Stocker-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the Stockert-Paletti Chapel with Pastor Dave Pettery and Pastor Tammy Pettery officiating.
