Stephen “Steve” Glen Ware, 70, of Walkersville, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV. Steve was born on April 4, 1950 in Braxton County, WV son of Virginia (Singleton) Parker of Knawl Creek, WV and the late Gorden Glen Ware. In addition to his father, Steve was also preceded in death by his sister Connie Rose Martin (Ware).

Those left to cherish Steve’s memory are his beloved wife of forty-eight years Monajean “Mona” (Miller) Ware whom he married on January 6, 1973. Also surviving are daughters Connie Vandevender and (Billy) of Elkins, WV, Carol Dennison and (George, Jr.) of Sutton, WV. Also surviving are grandchildren Matthew Arbogast, Joseph Arbogast, Bryson Dennison, Gunnar Dennison, Kaelin Vandevender, Cullin Vandevender and great-grandchildren Chase Arbogast, Sophia Arbogast, and Mason Arbogast, and brother Rufus “Bill” Ware (Debbie) of Walkersville. Stephen also has many Nieces and Nephews.
Steve was a graduate of Burnsville High School. Steve served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. In his free time he enjoyed carpentry, auto mechanics and hunting and fishing. Steve loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed when everyone could get together. Steve enjoyed watching sports like WVU and Pittsburgh Steelers football. His favorite sport was boxing. Steve never missed a sporting event for his daughters when they were growing up and continued that tradition with his grandchildren. Even when Steve wasn't feeling well he never missed one of his grandchildren’s events. Steve was a great role model for his daughters and grandchildren. Steve will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Family will receive friends Friday, January 29, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Stockert-Paletti Chapel with Pastor Delmas Singleton officiating, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Interment will follow at the Little Kanawha Memorial Garden in Heaters, WV with military honors from the American Legion Post #33.
