Obituary for Norman Rogerson

Norman E. “Sonny” Rogerson of Lewis Center Ohio, formally of Moundsville, WV, took residence in his heavenly home on December 14, 2020.He was born March 1, 1933 in Wheeling WV, a son of the late George and Elsie Rogerson.

He was a US Army Veteran, retired from Allied Chemical North Plant (later, Olin Chemical Corporation), and drove a van for the Marshall County Senior Center. He was a life-long farmer of the earth and prolific gardener, known by family and friends alike as ‘Sonny’, or simply ‘Norm’. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who met and knew him. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grand-father. Norman was kind, compassionate and loved life and always put family, friends, and others before himself. The world is now a sadder place because we have lost a truly kind-hearted, good-natured soul who never had a short word for anybody. He was an avid Pittsburg Steeler’s fan and loved traditional Country Music.

Norman was preceded into eternal peace by his wife Vena, his parents George and Elsie Rogerson, sisters Grace Coffield and Doris Riggle.

Surviving are his children Dennis Rogerson of Moundsville; Myra (Gregg) Crow of Dublin OH; David (Adrienne) Rogerson of Mooresville NC; Grandchildren, Amber (Michael) Shannon of Hilliard, OH; Dylan Crow of Dublin, OH; Ryan Crow (Alexis DeJarnette) of Dublin, OH; Tobias “Toby” Rogerson of Nashville TN; Tiffany (Michael) Deal of Mooresville NC; David (Genelle) Rogerson of Port Wentworth, GA, and six great-grandchildren; siblings (sisters) June Baker of Townville, SC; Ruth (Gerald) Cook of Wheeling; Erma Nixon of Elm Grove; (brothers) Donald ‘Donnie’ Rogerson of Moundsville; Wayne Rogerson of Elm Grove; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
