Obituary for Joseph Morton Stalnaker
Joseph “Joe” M. Stalnaker, 87, of Heaters, WV passed away at his home on Monday, May 4, 2020. Joe was born on September 21, 1932 to the late William and Arlie Golden Stalnaker. On October 13, he married the former Deloris Teter who preceded him in death on May 13, 1996.
Joe is survived by his sons: Billy Joe Stalnaker and wife Tamara, John Stalnaker and wife Beth, and Rodney Gail Stalnaker all of Heaters, WV; daughters Dottie Burns and husband Jim of Heaters, WV; grandchildren: Joey Stalnaker and wife Jessica, Brittney Stalnaker, Courtney Duckworth and husband Doug, Dillon Stalnaker, Desarah Stalnaker, Chasity Ware and husband Jason, and Crystal Burns; great grandchildren: Ryan, Natalie, Emma, Lilly, Caleb, Tori, Addison, Lana, Maisic, and Zaelynn; borther: Jack Stalnaker of Sutton, WV; sister: Jerry Mae Wandling of Heaters, WV; and nephew and nieces: Mary Stalnaker, Nobie Holly, and Dale Groff.
Joe is a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Ford Motor Company in the motor foundry plant and later for the state of WV. Joe was an avid outdoorsman. He raised a beautiful garden. Joe was a farmer; he raised cattle. He loved to fish on his boat and hunt. He had a particular fondness for gospel music. Joe was a people person, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods, Corner Rd, Flatwoods, WV 26621, on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home with Pastor Shelia Baughman officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Lane Cemetery, in Heaters, WV. Due to Covid- 19, we ask that anyone who is feeling ill or who may be uncomfortable in a group setting to remain home. We are making every effort to keep the public and our staff safe during this time.
