Obituary for Jamila Allam

Jamila Allam, 90, of Flatwoods, WV was called home to heaven on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Braxton Memorial Hospital. Jamila was born on November 29, 1929 in Damascus, Syria to Elias and Mariam Allam.
In addition to her parents, Jamila is preceded in death by her husband: Fadlo Katiny on March 15, 1973; son: Michael Katiny; daughter: Hala Katiny; brother: Ibrahim Allam; and sisters: Atia Allam and Houneina Allam.
Jamila leaves behind a large and loving family. She is survived by sons: Dr. Tony Katiny of Flatwoods, WV, Maher Katiny of Flatwoods, WV, and Bashar Katiny and wife Lina of Montreal, Canada; daughter: Adele Katiny of Flatwoods, WV; and grandchildren: Allison Katiny, Samia Katiny, Karine
Katiny, and Sandra Katiny.
Jamila married her husband, Fadlo Katiny, in 1959. She spent her life as a teacher and homemaker, caring for her children. Jamila was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Jamila was a devout Christian. She enjoyed studying the Bible and praying.
A private family visitation and funeral service will be held at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods, Corner Rd, Flatwoods, WV 26621, on Monday, April 27, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 am. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Father Joseph Hazar, from St. George Orthodox Cathedral of Charleston, WV, officiating. Interment will follow at Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens in Heaters, WV.
