Obituary for Eva Marie Cosner
Eva “Molly” Marie Allen Cosner, 85, of Burnsville, WV departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 6:30 pm following an extended illness. She was born March 10. 1935, the last surviving child of Charlie Doyle Allen and Edna Riffle Allen of Long Run.
On December 5, 1953 she married Frederick Carl Cosner and they shared 62 years of marriage before his passing on March 4, 2016. Marie was a loving wife and a wonderful mother to their six children. Marie was a member of Orlando Baptist Church.
She is survived by five daughters: Wilma Cosner, Norma Nettles, and Janette Crutchfield of Burnsville, Annie James (Bobby) of Gassaway, Karen Brown (Joe) of Burnsville; one son: Frederick Daniel Cosner (Priscilla) of Burnsville; grandchildren: Staci Gerwig (Brian), Caleb James (Kayla) of Gassaway, Dustin Crutchfield of Glenville, Cortney Crutchfield, Allison, Adam, and Kendrick Cosner of Burnsville, great-grandchildren: Paisley Grace and Presley Rose James and Bentley and Owen Gerwig; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by brothers: Brooks, Harry, Delbert, Edward, Raymond, Robert, Franklin, William, and Claude; sisters: Bertha Riffle and Mary Parker; half-siblings: Thomas and Mamie; and son-in-laws: Calvert Lynn Nettles and Timothy Crutchfield.
Due to the current situation with Covid-19 and our ongoing effort for public safety, there will be a private visitation and funeral service with Pastor Chris Cosner officiating at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Rd, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Interment will follow at the Little Kanawha Cemetery in Heaters, WV on Friday, April 24, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mountaineer Food Bank.
