Harry Woodrow “Woody” Jordan, 87, of Ireland, WV was called home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2020. Harry was born on February 28, 1932 to Harry and Edna Dean Cogar. In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his sisters: Donna Lomelino and Levern Payne; daughter: Delilah Groves; and four great grandchild: Jenna Jo Davis, on October 13, 2019 and three infant girls.
Harry will be greatly missed by the large and loving family he leaves behind. He is survived by wife: Virginia “Pearl” Fisher; son: Harmond Jordan and wife Darlene of Ireland, WV; Daughters: Vernila McCartney and husband Charles of Crawford, WV and Della Humphrey and husband Calvin of Ireland, WV; grandchildren: Arnold McCartney, Robert McCartney, Pamela Lane (Jason), Brenda Harris (Doug), James Jordan (Beth), Darlene Wyne (John), Daniel Jordan, Deleta Riley Riddle (Bobby), Karla Riley, and Vernon Groves; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Woody enjoyed working; he spent his life working in the timber industry. He was 16 years old when he started timbering and had a knack for operating the dozer. He also enjoyed riding the 4-wheeler, deer hunting,y and fishing in his spare time. Woody was a kind man who was loved and respected by everyone.
Family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 11:00-1:00 pm at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Rd, Flatwoods, WV 26621 (304)765-5371. Funeral Service will follow visitation at 1:00 pm at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Luke Malensek officiating. Interment will follow at the Fisher Cemetery.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made to the funeral services for Harry.
