Donald Morrison, known to many as Dode, 78, of Newville, WV went home to be with The Lord on November 25, 2019. Donald was born in Newville to Arnold and Georgia Morrison and lived out his life there. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Donald Keath Morrison; brothers: Heb Morrison and Delmas Morrison; sisters: Dorris Connell, Sue Lewis, and Anita Joe Luzader; and grandson: Tyler Morrison.

Donald is survived by daughters: LaVaughna Goad and husband Donnie, Rachel Juillet and husband Dallas, and Ivana Morrision and boyfriend Kenneth Pritt; brother Dale Morrison and wife Pat and Tom Morrsion; sisters: Janice Currence and husband Victor, and Arlene Currence; grandchildren: Cory Morrison, Kayla Morrison and boyfriend Derek Rose, Courtney Goad, Isaac Goad, Brianna Boggs and Fiance Ted Van Den Broek, Krista Juillet, Elijah Morrison Sharp, Ethan Morrison Sharp, Avin Morrison Sharp, Jeremiah Morrison Sharp, Noah Webb and fiancé Michelle Yale, Tristen Webb, Aleera Smarr, and Hunter Smarr; and great-grandchildren Lakyen Rose and Aiden Largess.

Donald was a kind man who had overcome many trials during his youth. He lived a simple life, often going without modern conveniences. Donald enjoyed listening to music and playing guitar. He played music from the greats including Hank Williams and George Jones. In addition to music, his greatest love was antiques. Donald collected anything that was old and interesting. He had antique items from horseshoes to gas cans and signs.

Family will receive friends on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Stocket-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26221. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Newville Cemetery.
