Obituary for Edith Irene "Pete" Perrine (Huffman)

Edith “Pete” Irene (Huffman) Perrine, 73, of Gassaway, WV was called home to Heaven on Saturday, September 21, 2019 surrounded by her family. Edith was born on April 5, 1946 in Copen, WV; the daughter of late Russell Huffman who preceded her in death on June 14, 2004 and Ethel Irene (Sprouse) Huffman who preceded her in death on February 1, 1987. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Melinda Sue Greenlief, son Charles Edward Greenlief, brother Donnie Huffman and Great Grandson Brayden.
Edith is survived by her sons Kenneth Allen Greenlief (Jeff Black) and Russell Burton Greenlief (Angela Dawn). Also surviving are siblings Harlan Huffman (Rosalee), Dellbert Huffman (Carol), Robert Huffman (Delma), Barbara Hoder (Jim), Ralph Huffman (Kendra), Lola Belle Long (Larry), Bill Huffman (Debbie), Denzil Huffman (Debbie), Paul Huffman (Beth) and daughter in law Vickie Huffman. Edith is also survived by her grandchildren Brittany Williamson, Nichole Myers, Troy Greenlief, Gracie Greenlief, Charles Cody Greenlief, Donnie Greenlief, Jody Lawson and Autumn Greenlief and five great grandchildren.
Edith possessed a strong faith in God and enjoyed the gospels; she attended Gassaway Baptist Church. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her free time was spent growing gardens and canning what she grew. She cooked the best rice and chicken. Edith’s favorite flower was a Christmas cactus and she had a goldfish named Fred.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Stocket-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26221. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in the Burnsville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
