Obituary for Rosalie Dean Steele

Rosalie (Dean) Steele, 84, of Sutton, WV passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on September 10, 1934, at Burnsville, WV to the late John Levia Dean and Truda Grace (Keller) Dean. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Freddie Gene Steele who passed away January 3, 2009, and several siblings.
Surviving are daughters, Donna (Bill) Stout, Flatwoods, WV and Debora (Ron) Carroll, Sutton, WV; son, Doug (Suzie) Steele, Burnsville, WV. Also, surviving are grandchildren, Garrett Stout, Devan Stout, Morgan Wickline, Kalyn Prego, Easton Hutton, Ronnie Carroll, Stephanie Martin, Danielle Steele Moore, Grace Hines, and Phillip Steele; great-grandchildren, Madison Paugh, Isaac Paugh, Morgan Stout, Nathan Stout, Tripp Prego, Henry Prego, Brett Wickline, Chase Wickline, Mitchell Martin, Sophia Martin, Addison Moore, Lane Moore, Lilly Hines, Layden Hines, and Lanette Hines; sister, Mary Tretinik Brownsville, PA; sisters-in-law, June Patterson, Magnolia, OH, and Nancy Kalinowski (Paul), Wolcott, CT, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings Leonard Hopkins, Mabel Tenney, Howard Dean, Hayward Dean, May McQuain, Arden Dean, Samuel Dean, Levia Dean, Jr., and Dora Taylor.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and the Christ Church Cantina and the Braxton County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019, from 12-2 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church, 188 Main Street, Sutton, WV 26601. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church with Reverend Doug Smailes officiating. Per Mrs. Steeleā€™s request, she will be cremated and her ashes will be interred in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Braxton County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 100 Holyman Drive Gassaway, WV 26624 or to the Christ Church Cantina, 188 Main Street, Sutton, WV 26601. Condolences can be expressed to the family at stockert-paletti.com.
