Roy “Gale” Brown, 79, of 139 Westward Drive, Jane Lew, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Louis A. Johnson Medical Center, Clarksburg, WV. He was born at Orlando, WV on August 22, 1939 to the late Thomas A. Brown and Reba (Singleton) Brown. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Gene Brown.
He is survived by daughter, Jolena Fonke (Steve), Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Martha Taylor, Napier, WV; brothers Soloman “Wink” Brown (Cara), Gahanna, OH and Jerry Brown, New Straitsville, OH. Also surviving is grandson, Landon Fonke and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Brown served his Country in the United States Army as a Medical Specialist and then worked for Myers construction as an electric lineman. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his rabbit dogs.
Family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Hoover officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors being conducted by the American Legion Post 33.
