Mr. Shirlin “Jack” Lane Hacker, 77, of 729 River Street, Gassaway, WV, was called home, on Thursday, May 9. 2019 at the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV. Jack was born in Sutton, WV on January 16, 1942 to the late Gilbert Hacker and Lena (Bender) Hacker. On August 22, 1967 he married his loving wife of 51 years and 8 months Creda “Chris” (Hall) Hacker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson and Brother Alan “Popeye” Hacker.
In addition to his wife Mr. Hacker is survived by two son Gary Hacker and wife Marsha of Gassaway, WV, Lee Hacker of Gassaway, and daughter Gloria Belknap and husband Frankie of Chapel, Also serving are grandchildren Monica Wolford, Leanna Blankenship, Mckayla Hill, Ethan Belknap, Garrett Hacker, Zachary Jackson, great grandchildren, Taylor, Logan, Levi, and Mason, Jody, and Alexander. Also surviving Brother’s Clarence “Wayne” Hacker and wife Helen of Gassaway, Warren “Tink” Hacker and wife Judy of Gassaway, WV and Charles “Curly” Hacker and wife Ruth Ann of Exchange, WV, sisters Karen Jackson of Sutton, WV and Sharon Jackson of Tulsa, OK, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hacker was Baptist by faith a member of the United States Army. He retired from the board of education with 24 years of service. He enjoyed watching football games and wrestling. He also an avid hunter. Mr. Hacker was also a great husband, father, and grandfather.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Alan Strader presiding over funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. Follow funeral services interment will take place in the Hoover Cemetery in Birch River will full Military Graveside Rites conducted by American Legion Post 33.
