Obituary for Elsie Virginia Dennison

Elsie Virginia Dennison, age 96, of Flatwoods, WV departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
Virginia was born to Charles and Mable Carroll on March 15, 1923. She married James Wayford Dennison in 1940. They shared 59 years of marriage prior to his death, April 26, 2000. Virginia loved her family and the Lord. Her faith was of utmost importance to her. She supported her husband as a pastor’s wife of a United Pentecostal Church for 30 years.
Her family never doubter her love for them. She worked hard and made their house a home. Her family loved her home cooked meals that she made with the most simple of ingredients. Virginia was an avid quilter. You could usually find her quilting frame set up, and in her spare time, hand quilting on one of the many beautiful heirloom quilts she made over her lifetime.
Virginia is survived by her six children: Wayford Van Dennison, Clifford Dorn (Sharon) Dennison, Daniel (Robin) Dennison, James (Brenda Dennison, Treva (Philip) Zellner, and Crystallynde (Kiso) (Johnnie) Verton. Also, surviving are her 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 17 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayford Dennison, their son, Jan Con Dennison in 1960, their daughter-in-law, Judy Dennison, and 2 grandchildren, Danny Lee Dennison and Amanda Nicole Zellner.
We the family, want to thank those that continued to ask about her and remember her with cards, letters, and visits during her later years. We also would like to thank the caring staff at Holbrook on the Hill in Buckhannon, WV.
Her love nurtured us. Her loss diminished us. Her memory will sustain us.
