Mary Ellen Nicholson, 89, of McCann’s Run, Jane Lew, WV passed away peacefully at her home on March 1, 2019. Her final days were spent being visited by and surrounded by the love and laughter of her family and friends which is what she enjoyed most in life. She was born on May 23, 1929 at Hyres Run, Burnsville, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward Nicholson; granddaughter Sue-Ellen Pulliam and great granddaughter, Addison Pyle. She was the last remaining of her immediate family.
She is survived by daughter, Betty Wine and husband Rick of Burnsville, WV, son, Roy Jr. Pulliam of Ripley, WV, daughter, Luverna Lamp of Sutton, WV, son, Phillip Pulliam and wife, Sherry of Copen, WV, daughter, Bobbie Moore of Jane Lew, WV, son, Darrell Nicholson and wife, Angela of Newport, NC and daughter Roberta Gossard and husband, Robbie of Hagerstown, MD. Also surviving are 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren; 3 nephews, and numerous friends of her family which she lovingly claimed as her own.
Mary Ellen loved flowers and gardening. Above all she loved her family and loved spending time with them.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner, Flatwoods, WV 26621, and on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 12-2 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Vaughn officiating. Mrs. Mary Ellen Nicholson will then be cremated and taken to her final resting place by her family.
