Obituary for Vickie Sue Conrad (Moore)

Victoria “Vickie” Sue (Moore) Conrad, 58, of Copen, WV passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 with her loved ones by her side in the WVU Medicine United Hospital Center Hospice in Bridgeport, WV. Vickie was born on September 6, 1960 in Elkins, WV, the daughter of Pattie Jean (Stalnaker) Moore of Elkins and the late James Russell Moore who preceded her in death on January 15, 2014.
Vickie was also preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ralph and Frances (Bohon) Moore, maternal grandparents French and Madge (Wamsley) Stalnaker, sister Debbie Chester, brother-in-law James O’Dell, and stepson Russell Chewning.
On July 5, 1996 she married Roy Conrad. In addition to her husband, Roy, she is survived by: her children Rusty Chewning of Burnsville, Leslie Ruggiero and her significant other Mike Pettinato of Elkins; stepchildren Barbie, B.J., Ronald, and Rhonda Chewning; grandchildren Kelsey Armstrong, Alyssa and Victoria Ruggiero, and Serenity, Heavenly, Bailey, Preston, and Kynzie Chewning. Vickie is also survived by: siblings Tammy Jester of IN, Donna and her husband Burley Woods of Elkins, Becky and her husband Ron Belt of Elkins, Barbara O’Dell of Elkins, and James Moore Jr. and his wife Buffy of Elkins; sisters-in-law Evelyn “Girly” Carson of Burnsville and Bertha “Mone” Ratliff of Stouts Mill, WV; several nieces and nephews; and her life companion and precious Yorkie dog, Harley.
Vickie last worked at A&O Railroad Company having started out as an engineer and later becoming an Administrative Executive. Previously, she earned a Paralegal degree from Fairmont State and worked as a paralegal for Farber Law Firm in Sutton. Vickie also worked as a cashier/manager at GoMart in Burnsville, as a sales associate at Bugle Boy in Flatwoods, and as an Assistant General Manager at Darnell Motors in Belington. When not working, Vickie enjoyed: hunting; fishing; spending time with friends and family at her river-side cabin; weed-eating her big yard; and riding and caring for her two quarter horses. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by them.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 1-4 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home located at 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral services will follow visitation in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home chapel at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor A.H. Belt presiding over services. Per Vickie’s wishes, her body will be cremated following the funeral.
