Roland “Jake” Keith Sigman, Birch River, WV passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Summersville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 22, 1941 at Charleston, WV to the late Verl Sigman and Martha (Frame) Sigman. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Sigman.
He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Neva J. (James) Sigman; sons, Doug Sigman (Deena), Keener Ridge, Charlie Sigman (Cindy), Birch River; daughter, Paula Frame (J.B.), Birch River; brothers Larry Sigman (Virginia), Columbus, OH, Kenneth Sigman (Sandra), Canvas, Steve Sigman (Debbie), Birch River, Tommy Sigman (RoseAnn), Sutton; sisters, Rufena Coen (David), Vermillion, OH, Sharon Strickland (Joe), Birch River, Karen Butcher (Royal), Birch River, Nancy Bail (Dale), Birch River, Nancy Elaine Taylor (Roger), Charleston. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Jessica Boggs (Shawn), Walkertown, NC, Whitney Hacker (Matt), Cedarville, Madison Frame and fiancée (Brandon Cole), Birch River, Gabe Sigman, Keener Ridge, Joel Sigman, Keener Ridge; and great grandchild, Ava Hacker, Cedarville; and great grandchild on the way, Ali Hacker, Cedarville. Also the family would like to recognize his special friends, Bill Lane and Delano Facemire.
Roland worked in the mines for over 36 plus years and was a member of the United Coal Miner Association. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours coon hunting, hunting for deer and bear. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Conrad officiating.
