Sharon Kay (Armentrout) Powell, 74, passed away on March 2, 2018 at home under the care of Hospice. She was born September 20, 1943 in Webster Springs, WV to the late Reverend Forrest Armentrout and Bessie Mildred Eubanks Armentrout. Also proceeding where brothers Forrest Robert, Billy Marvin, Hunter Franklin, and Henry Lloyd.
Sharon is survived by her husband Rupert “Rudy” Powell Jr. of Napier, WV, whom she married on September 23, 2017. Also surviving son Kenneth Short II and wife (Sheryl) of Weston, WV; Grandchildren Tiffany Jo Short and Kenneth Short III and wife Pamela, and greatgrandchildren Jeb Short.
Sharon is also survived by sisters Margarete Lons of Lodi, OH, Phyllis Holloway and husband Homer of Buckhannon, WV, and Edith Williams and husband Howard of Point Pleasant, WV. Also surviving are brothers John Armentrout and wife Margaret of Berkeley Springs, WV, Richard and wife Kathi of Beckley, WV, and sister-in-law Sandy Armentrout of Buckhannon, WV.
Sharon Attended Burnsville High School and graduated from Troy High School in 1962. She retired from the United States Small Business Administration after 15 years of services.
Family will receive friends on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 11-1 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral Services will follow calling hours and start at 1:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Allen officiating.
