Obituary for Paul Cogar

Paul  Cogar
Paul Cogar, 74, of Sutton, WV passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Webster County, WV a son of the late Roscoe Cogar and Brenice (McCartney) Cogar.
He married Wavelene Sue (Mollohan) Cogar who preceded him in death June 18, 2003. Also preceding him death Infant brother Buddy Cogar, Buster Cogar, and sister Nelvia Jordan.
He leaves behind his family to continue his values and dedication that he instilled in them. He leaves behind sons Rick Cogar and wife Cheryl of Walkersville, WV, Don Cogar of Flatwoods, WV, Dell Cogar and wife Jessica of Wolf Creek Road, Sutton WV; grandchildren Heather Losh and husband John of Shinnston, WV, Tiffany Cogar of Weston, WV, Christopher Cogar of Sutton and one greatgrandchild Emelia Losh of Shinnston, WV; sisters Daisy Maxton of Coopers Rock, WV Darlene McCourt of Ohio, Crissy Wayne of Cowen, WV; and several nephews and nieces.
Mr. Cogar serviced and protected his Country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He retired from Oneida Coal Company with 15 years of service, and he also worked for Department of Natural Resources ensuring that WV state property and are beautiful parks and lakes were maintained and kept beautiful for everyone to enjoy. Mr. Cogar was an avid outdoors men he loved to hunt especially during deer and squirrel seasons. He also loved to fish are beautiful streams and rivers of West Virginia and trout fishing was his favorite. Mr. Cogars greatest love was his family especially his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 12-2 p.m. Following visitation on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John McQuain officiating. Interment will follow services with Full Military Honors Conducted by the Lewis County Honor Guard in the High Knob Cemetery where he will lay to rest with his loving wife Wavelene Sue (Mollohan) Cogar.
