Cherie Dawn (Bright) Young, 28, of New Milton, Doddridge County, WV and formerly of Flatwoods, WV passed away June 19, 2017 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was preceded in death by brother, Trinity Bright.
She was born June 14, 1989 in Morgantown, WV the daughter of Eugene Bright and Katherine “Kay” (Martin) Bright who survive. Preceding her in death also was father-in-law, J.C. Young and mother-in-law Sue Young of Doddridge County who survives.
Also surviving is her husband, Gary Sherman Young whom she married on June 14, 2008; brother, Eric Veltre (Kristy) Flatwoods, WV; sisters, Kelly Woods (Alvie) Strange Creek, WV and Carrie Bright, Flatwoods, WV; special friend, brother-in-law, Larry Myers; several nieces, special niece, LeAnna and nephews, cousins, special cousin Tabitha Morgan, brother-in-law, Jordan Young (Shawndee), and her dog Hydro.
Cherie was a 2007 graduate of Braxton County High School. She then went on to Glenville State College to study criminal justice and business school. She was strong willed, loving and kind. She enjoyed camping, writing, poems, painting, 4-wheeler riding, fishing and spending time with special nieces, Trinity and Layla. She was a member of the Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church.
Family will receive friends on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 11-2 pm at the Highknob Church, Sutton, WV with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 with the Reverend Eric Veltre officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
