Ruth “Bush” Criss, 84, of Rock Cave, WV passed away March 8, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital, Buckhannon, WV. She was born in Glenville, WV on July 21, 1932, to the late Louis Wesley McClain and Eda Rosalie Queen. Also preceding her in death is her husband, Harper E. Criss, whom she married on June 20, 1984 and who passed away on June 26, 2003; sons, Vernon Eugene Bush and Charles Rolland Bush; and daughters, Yvonne Grace Bush and Arawana Kay Bush; brothers, Robert McClain, Richard (Rat) McClain, Lewis W. (Pee Wee) Kay McClain and sister Vinita Johnson Ball; grandson, Michael Bush; sister-in-law, Melloney McClain.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Clifford Wayne and John David (Pam); daughters, Ruth Ranae Wade (Eddie), Denise Gunter (Tom) and Crystal Rutherford (Chuck); brothers, Charles Raymond McClain and Russell McClain; sisters, Maxine Johnson and Edna Halstead; grandchildren, Timothy (Kimberly) Wade, Tiffany (Richard) Godfrey, Tara (Roy) Prunty, Joshua Bush, Kassandra (Tim) Weiler, Jason Kincaid and Kelley Electa, Jessiah Gunter, Robert (Amy) Bush, Ashley (TJ) Smith, Mandy (Jeremy) Jones, Matt (Amanda) Williams, Shelia and Shannon Kincaid, Sharmalee Moore; great grandchildren, Shyanne and Montana Wade, Brooklyn and Braeden Godfrey, Covington and Treighton Hacker, Rylan Prunty, Colt and Sophia Bush, Blair Weiler, Matthew, Elonna and Chase Kincaid, Caleb Moyers, Logan and Jackson Bush, Presley and Trenton Smith, Ashton Gum, Levi and Hunter Jones, Shawna Posey and Kobe Starnes.
Ruth was a member of the VFW 37857 and the Mission Independent Church, Walkersville, WV. Ruth was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed attending church and visiting with friends and family. She was a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by all.
Family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner, Flatwoods, WV from 5-8 p.m. The Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at 1 p.m., in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Edgar Wade and Pastor Earl Cayton officiating.
