Obituary for Leslie Clay Eubank

Leslie Clay  Eubank
Leslie Clay Eubank, 95, of Big Run Road, Napier, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 12:10 p.m. surrounded by his loving wife, children and family at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV after an extended illness. He was born on September 29, 1919. He was the son of the late Daniel Eubank and Arlona (Westfall) Eubank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Roger Eubank and one brother, Russell Eubank.
Mr. Eubank is survived by his wife, Iva Lou Eubank whom he married on March 20, 1950. He is also survived by one son, David Eubank of Napier and one daughter, Sherry Sebok and husband Larry. Also surviving are grandchildren, Kelly, Chrystal, Donald, Dana, Dyan, Dawn, Shane, Trishia, Justin; great-grandchildren, Justine, Kenny, Roxanne, Natalie, Julie, Dillon, Vanessa, Kaden, Ryan, Cameron, Liam, Tyler; great-great-grandchildren Olyvia, Matthew, and Logan. Also surviving is his sister, Catherine Salisbury of (PA) and several nieces and nephews.
Leslie Clay Eubank served his Country during WWII and earned numerous medals and badges for his courage, including the Combat Infantryman Badge, Glider Badge, European, African, and Middle-Eastern Service Medal, Purple Heart Medal, Oak Leaf Cluster, and Bronze Star. He was involved in battles and campaigns in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Normandy, and Rhineland. He was a member of Company E 325th Infantry and the 82nd Airborne Division. Leslie enjoyed hunting and especially loved to coon hunt with his blue tick hounds. Leslie also enjoyed spending hours on the river bank fishing with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Leslie was a member on the Napier United Methodist Church. Leslie worked for 32 years for United Steel. He loved animals, his coon dogs and especially his dog Chrissy who preceded him in death.
Family will receive friends at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621, on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 4-8pm. Funeral services will be held from the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:00 am with Reverend Jim Burrows officiating. Interment will follow services in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens in Heaters, with full Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #33.
