Obituary for Vivian Marie Gregory
Vivian Marie Gregory, 93, passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 following an extended illness. She was born on May 6, 1921 in Sutton, WV and was the daughter of the late Christopher Blair Currence and Maddie Bird Cutlip. Vivian first married Glen King who preceded her in death. On July 30, 1948 she married Glenn Argyle Gregory, who also precedes her. In addition to her husband’s Vivian was preceded in death by sisters Betty Johnson, Gay Clark, grandson Bert S. Cochran II, and granddaughter Lynn Rexroad.
Surviving are sons, Argle Gregory (Caroline) and Mark Gregory (Stella); Daughters Becky Cochran (Bert), Carol Schott (Brian), Oleta Robinson (Steve), Linda Gregory (Bob), and Lorraine Wire (David). Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Vivian was Methodist by faith and was a member of High Knob Church. She dearly loved her family and church family. She also enjoyed walking, cooking, gardening and had fond memories of living on a farm.
Family will receive friends at the High Knob Church, Middle Ridge Road, Sutton WV on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 2:30-3 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from the High Knob Church with Rod Nicholas officiating at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow services in the High Knob Cemetery, Sutton, WV.
