Ellenor “Janie” Jane (Flesher) Taylor, 89, of Kitsonville died peacefully on Monday September 10, 2018 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family and under the compassionate care of WV Hospice. Janie was born July 1, 1929 in Weston, WV the only daughter of the late Peter Albert Flesher and Mary Agnes (Mullooly) Flesher.
In addition to her parents Janie was preceded in death on October 2, 1993 by her husband Archie Dale Taylor who she married on February 2, 1963 and they spent 29 years together. Also preceding her in death were her brothers William Henry Flesher, Thomas Paul Flesher, Joseph Robert Flesher, and her twin brother James Peter Flesher.
Janie is survived by two children daughter Mary Ellen Taylor of Weston, WV son John Taylor and wife Leslie of Saint John’s, FL and also surviving are grandchildren Cameron John Taylor of San Francisco, CA, Courtney Marie Taylor of Saint John’s, FL, and Chadwick William Taylor of Saint John’s, FL. Also surviving are several nieces, great-nieces, and great-great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-great nephews and cousins. Also surviving is her special Puppy named Quinn.
Janie was a graduate of St. Patrick Catholic High School with the class of 1947 as well as a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College with a Bachelor Degree of Arts and a Master of Arts. She was employed by C & P Telephone Company, M&M Motors, Citizens Bank of Weston, WV, and after attaining her degree a lengthy teaching career began in 1974 at Weston Central Elementary School and St. Patrick Elementary. Janie was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was baptized at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Loveberry, WV. She served there as a Eucharistic minister for many years and was a formerly on the Board that managed the St. Bernard Catholic Church Trust. She was with the Catholic Daughters Court Victory 379 for over 50 years.
Family will receive friends on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 210 Center Weston, WV 26452. A Rosary Vigil will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Binny Mulackal as celebrant. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church: Mail donation to 210 Center Street, Weston, WV 26452 in honor of Ellenor Jane Taylor.
