Johnny Robert Simons, 91, of Heaters, WV passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born at Bonnie, WV on April 25, 1927 to the late John Robert Simons and Lucy (Westfall) Simons. Also preceding him in death were sisters Rena Squires and Lucille Berry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Julious “Julie” (Westfall) Simons; sons, Eddie Simons, Heaters, WV, Steven “Mike” (Sandy), Gassaway, WV, Timothy “Tim” (Treva), Heaters, WV. He is also survived by granddaughter Michelle (Sam) Short; great grandchildren, Logan Short, Lane Short; great step grandchildren, Lexi Whitesel, Thomas Whitesel, Brayden Whitesel, Shellie Whitesel, Kyler Compton, Steven Whitesel and Natayla Whitesel; step grandchildren, Franklin Compton, J.D. (Dawn) Whitesel and Joshua (Jessie) Whitesel.
He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time farming and working with his livestock. He also enjoyed going hunting for deer and squirrel or just sitting on his front porch. He played the guitar and mandolin and had his own singing group.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621. Following visitation funeral services will be held in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Earl Cayton officiating.
