Rita Mae (Anderson) Cogar, 72 of Sutton, WV passed away August 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1946 in Warren, PA to the late Melvin W. Anderson and Mary K. (Giltinam) Anderson. Also preceding her in death were brothers, William J. and Melvin Anderson and sisters, Anna Marie Young and Carol Samuelson.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Lee Cogar whom she married on July 4, 1964; daughters, Michaela (George) Long, Margaret (Jamie) Rollyson and Marcey (Keith) Greene; son, Daniel Lee (Sammie) Cogar II; sister, Mary Lou (Matthew) Trusso, Harborport, FL and nine grandchildren; one great grandchild and the second one on the way.
Mrs. Cogar was Catholic by faith and worked as a Teachers Aid at Davis School in Gassaway for many years.
Family will receive friends at the St. Thomas Church, Gassaway, WV 26621 on Monday, September 3, 2018 with a Rosary Service at 9:45 a.m. with Father Thien Duc Nguyen officiating and visitation from 10-11 a.m. A Mass will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. Mrs. Cogar’s request for cremation will be honored.
