Gary Rondell Gillespie, 76, of Sutton, WV passed away December 29, 2017. He was born August 18, 1941 to the late Noel T. Gillespie and Hattie G. (Gregory) Gillespie and brother, Austin H. Gillespie.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (Hutchison) Gillespie, Sutton, WV who he married on December 28, 1960. Also surviving are sons, Gary W. (Margaret) Gillespie, of Gassaway, WV, Austin H. (Glenda) Gillespie, Sutton, WV, Jeffery R. (Patricia) Gillespie, of Manassas Park, VA and daughter, Cassie J. (Kelly) Gillespie Smallwood, Centralia, WV. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jonathan P. (Kristine) Gillespie, David B. Gillespie, Joshua A. Wampler, Ciera N. Gillespie, Matthew R. Gillespie, Andrew J. Gillespie and Austin K. Gillespie. Great granddaughter, Marissa G. Warner; brothers, Kenneth Gillespie, Jackie (June) Gillespie, New Cumberland, WV, Donnie (Shirley) Gillespie, Newell, WV and sister, Joyce Clark, New Cumberland, WV; Aunts Nelvale Squires and Evelyn Davis and many nieces and nephews.
He was a crane operator for a steel mill and enjoyed the Cleveland Browns football, all WVU sports, boxing and horse racing. At one point in his life he was a horse jockey. He enjoyed cooking out with family and hunting deer and squirrel. He liked to ride motorcycles and dirt bikes.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 11-1 p.m. Funeral Services will follow in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John McQuain officiating.
