Obituary for Vonda (Taylor) Douglas

Vonda  (Taylor) Douglas
Vonda E. (Taylor) Douglas, 85, died Thursday August 3, 2017 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital from complications from a stroke/fall. She was born December 15, 1931 in Falls Mill, West Virginia, the daughter of Guy & Golda (Willoughby) Taylor. Vonda was a graduate of Burnsville High School.

She was a member of S.C.O.P.E. where she took chair yoga classes. She was a member of Champion Church of the Nazarene. Vonda enjoyed shopping, gardening and cooking, but most of all her friends and family.

She was employed as a telephone operate in Sutton, WV and at Ohio Lamp in Warren, OH for a short time. She was a Mother and Homemaker.

She is survived by her son Ronald Douglas; her daughter Elaine Douglas (Jeffrey) Payne; her grandson Cole W. Payne all of Warren, OH; her brothers Charles (Carol) Taylor of Debary, Florida, Thomas (Sandra) Taylor of Hicksville, OH; her dear sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews as well as her sweet caregiver Brenda Byler. Vonda was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 41 years, Donald J. Douglas whom she married July 2, 1955. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Ernest, William & Homer Taylor.

There will be a graveside service held, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Heaters Cemetery, Flatwoods, West Virginia, with internment following. Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home of Flatwoods is honored and privileged to be serving the Douglas Family.
