Obituary for Betty N. Griffin

Betty N. Griffin
Betty Nell (Allen) Griffin
Betty Griffin fought a good fight but inevitably accepted an invitation from the Heavenly Father to come home in the early morning hours of July 13, 2017.
Betty was born in Corley, WV her parents were Walter & Hester (Furby) Allen on July 25, 1937. In addition to her parents, she has had three brothers to pass, Robert Lee, James Walter, and Donnie Leon Allen. The other siblings left to mourn her passing are brothers; Billy Joe, Roger Lewis, Richard Dale, and Danny Lynn Allen; and sisters Dorothy (Dottie) Pierson, Esta (Lane) Gibson, and Brenda (Pie) Teter.
This Mother of ten children recently underwent extensive surgery and due to unforeseen complications was unable to fully recuperate from the procedure. Her husband, Robert K. Griffin, preceded her in death, as well as one child, Paul Eugene Griffin. The remaining children were able to be with her throughout this ordeal and will always hold her dear in their hearts. Deborah White, Linda Culverhouse, Mark Griffin, John Griffin, Elyianna (Susie) Griffin, Becky Wine, Steve Griffin, Tom Griffin, and JW Crook.
Betty lived on Canoe Run in Gassaway, WV and in Charleston, WV a large part of her life. Just recently (2004) she returned to her hometown in Braxton County and lived in the Burnsville area. She enjoyed growing her flowers, seeking out yard sales and flea markets, and having multiple family members visit on special occasions or ordinary days. Her family grew in leaps and bounds and there will be 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great Grandchild left to memorialize Betty’s life.
She was able to live independentyly at home with the assistance of caregivers from Central WV Aging Services. She loved all of her workers and felt like they were her family, too.
The family has planned memorial services with the help of Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 which will be held on Saturday evening, July 15, from 5-8 pm.
