Robert Larry Carson, 82, of Burnsville, West Virginia passed away at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston on February 10, 2017. Born in Gilmer County, West Virginia, on October 10, 1934, Robert was the son of Raymond Carson and Mary (Ratliff) who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were son, Robert Douglas Carson; brothers, Roy, Kit and Romeo Carson; sisters Ruth Spar, Mildred Singleton and Beatrice Carson.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Evelyn (Conrad) Carson; son, Stacy Carson (Erin), Burnsville, WV; daughters Carolyn (Michael) “Spank” Cawthon, Connie Metz (Brent), Raleigh, NC, Cherie Baker, Sutton, WV; step sons, Jimmy Conrad (Crystal), Ronnie Conrad (Melissa), Lonnie Conrad; step daughter Dianna Conrad; sister, Ann Singleton, Burnsville, WV; and Betty Carson, sister-in-law. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Mr. Carson served his Country in the United States Army. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, yard work and gardening. He was a cable technician for the Cable Company for 40 plus years.

Family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 4-8 p.m. The Funeral services will be Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the Stockert-Paletti funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ronzel Roberts officiating. Graveside rights will follow at the Taylor Cemetery, WV with full Military Honors being performed by the Braxton County American Legion Post 33 of Sutton, WV.
