Obituary for Stephen Randall Blake

Stephen Randall (Muggsy) Blake of Burnsville, West Virginia, passed away at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston on February 11, 2017, from complications following a brief illness. Born in Sutton, West Virginia, on December 22, 1949, Randy was the son of Robert J. Blake and Wilma Conley Blake who preceded him in death.

Randy was the owner of Mountain State Power Tong in Burnsville, West Virginia. He enjoyed exploring his family’s genealogy, excited with each new addition to the family tree. He loved riding motorcycles and collecting antique vehicles, but he was best known for his willingness to help a friend or a stranger in need.

Randy was a member of the Sutton Moose Lodge and participated yearly in the Toys for Tots Motorcycle Ride Along with many other local charities.

Randy is survived by his life companion Molly Blake at home. He also leaves behind children Denise (Troy) Gray, Lakemore, Ohio; Robert Rinehart, Dallas, Texas; Rebekah (Paul) Smith, Galax, Virginia; Randi Michelle Blake, Lost Creek, West Virginia; and David (Autumn) Blake of Weston, West Virginia, along with grandchildren Terry Randall Evans, Alex Wellman, Elizabeth Wellman, Gage Watkins, Aden Blake, Betty Blake and Phoenix Jones and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are siblings Gary (Judy) Blake, New Market, Suffolk, England; Paige (Neil) Rayle, Chester, West Virginia; and Robin (Mel) Albrecht, Homeworth, Ohio; along with many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 4-8 p.m. The Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in the Stockert-Paletti funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Delmas Singleton officiating.
