Erless Jean (Fox) Nichols, 75, of Sutton passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital after an unexpected illness.

She was born March 18, 1940 to the late Wayne Richard and Effie Grey (Allen) Fox at Bulltown, WV.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richard Nichols, who passed away on September 10, 2007; brother, Zane Richard Fox; sister, Lillian Kay Cypret, and granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Bailey.

She is survived by her son, Wm. Jack Bailey (Loretta) of Sutton; sisters Carolyn Sue Gregory and Wilma Lou Lockhart of Gassaway, Laura Faye Wiggins (Bill) of Mobile, AL and Alice Lee Blake of Fuquay Varina, NC; brothers Donald Allen Fox (Carolyn) and Linden Gail Fox (Phyllis) both of Sutton. Also surviving are two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank her close and dear friends Johnny and Diane Gross of Sutton for their support and devotion.

Jean was a homemaker. During her life she worked in numerous jobs. She loved to cook, visit and help friends in any way she could. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2015, at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV with Reverend Earl Cayton officiating.
